2017 Cultural Alliance Partners

Each year, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival teams up with some of the city’s most vibrant arts organizations, which offer hands-on activities and demos at the festival. We’re excited to announce this year’s Cultural Alliance Partners, including:

Atlanta History Center

The Atlanta History Center once again joins the festival as a Cultural Alliance Partner. The Atlanta History Center, located on 33 acres in the heart of historic Buckhead, features award-winning exhibitions, historic houses, enchanting gardens, interactive activities and a variety of year-round adult and family programs.

Zoo Atlanta
Opened in 1889, Zoo Atlanta is the oldest cultural institution in the city. Zoo Atlanta is home to more than 1,400 animals, representing more than 200 species from around the world. From behind-the-scenes Wild Encounters with exotic animals to a leisurely stroll through The Ford African Rain Forest or a Scaly Slimy Spectacular reptile and amphibian experience, Zoo Atlanta offers something for everyone.

Smart Glass Jewelry offers onsite jewelry making demos throughout festival weekend. The organization was founded by designer Kathleen Plate who started selling her jewelry in small boutiques in the 1990s. Her innovative work was recognized by corporations such as Coca-Cola and Aveda, who commissioned Plate to create jewelry from their product packaging. Smart Glass has achieved commercial success while remaining true to the values of craft and recycling.
Georgia on My Mind
The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is the state’s sales and marketing arm. The GDEcD is the lead agency for attracting new business investment and encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses in the state. The organization is also responsible for attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a destination for arts, film, music and digital entertainment projects.
