Atlanta High School Art Exhibition
2013 Atlanta High School Exhibition Photos
Location: Community Center near the 12th Street Entrance.
Winner of 2012 International Festivals & Events Association Silver Award for Best Educational Program and Bronze Award for Best Event Within an Event and 2011 and 2013 Southeast Festivals and Events Association Silver Awards for Best Event Within an Event.
The Festival is proud each year to sponsor the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition (AHSAE), which accepted nearly 600 entries from talented young artists throughout Atlanta and Georgia. You can see the best 105 works of art at the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival.
Providing winners with $40,000 in scholarships and prizes, the AHSAE is a community-oriented feature of the festival that fills a growing gap in creative opportunities for youth and highlights the variety and breadth of young Atlanta artistic talent. As a feature of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the AHSAE has received national recognition for its impact on young artists.
For the second year, the AHSAE includes the “Art Throwdown,” a fast-paced onsite competition of area high school teams who compete in ceramics, collaborative sculpture, still life painting, timed sketching, landscape drawing and themed performance.
Don’t miss the Art Throwdown
Begins Sunday at 10 am at nearby Grady High School and moves to the front of the Community Center at 1 pm. Awards will be given at 3 pm!
